San Luis Drainage Feature Re-evaluation

Challenge: Gain public acceptance of the project to allow the Bureau of Reclamation to provide agricultural drainage to the San Luis Unit of the Central Valley Project in Southern California.

Role: Develop and implement a multi-level strategy involving stakeholders and coordinate and facilitate scoping meetings.

Result: An implementable project brought to fruition through open communication between agricultural interests, agencies, environmental organizations, and water users.

 

 

Caldecott Tunnel Fourth Bore

Challenge: Bring together the varied interests of the Bay Area and the residents of Contra Costa and Alameda Counties to evaluate options for a fourth bore for the Caldecott Tunnel.

Role: Review prior studies, develop informational materials, and meet with stakeholders, agencies, and community interests to define and evaluate corridor improvement strategies.

Result: Keeping the environmental process moving forward in a timely manner.

 

 

Muni-Metro Turnback Project

San Francisco Transportation Commission

Challenge: Ensure compliance with CEQA/NEPA mitigation measures and act as liaison with local property owners during design and construction on San Francisco's prestigious historic waterfront.

Role: Review and monitor the design and construction process to ensure that mitigation measures regarding noise, hazardous materials, and community relations are incorporated into project plans and specifications; draft and negotiate a programmatic agreement with the State Office of Historic Preservation and coordinate on-site monitoring, data collection and analysis of thousands of historic artifacts; act as liaison with adjoining property owners; and assist the City of San Francisco in responding to project inquiries.

Result: CirclePoint’s comprehensive approach contributed to an extremely smooth design and construction process. The discovery of a historic ship during tunneling led to immediate data collection and analysis and resulted in the loss of only one construction day.
