Helpdesk Support Technician

Circlepoint is seeking a full-time Helpdesk Support Technician to join us in our downtown Oakland headquarters office. The position plays a key role in providing end user desktop support to onsite and offsite employees.

Job Requirements:

Workstation Administration / Help Desk Support

  • Provide end user desktop support to onsite and offsite employees on a variety of issues including: setting up computer stations; troubleshooting software applications; ensuring virus protection is enabled and definitions are updated; resolving ethernet and wireless connection issues; solving printer problems, etc.
  • Assist in the deployment, maintenance and administration of Mac Mavericks/Yosemite workstations and tablets, Windows 7 & 8.1 desktop PCs / laptops / tablets, hardware, software, multi-function copy/print/scan/fax machines and system peripherals
  • Track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
  • Respond to Circlepoint network, hardware, software and training needs
  • Research equipment, software, vendor options and sources
  • Recommend emerging hardware/software useful in assisting the employees with their job responsibilities
  • Purchase and install new computer software and hardware
  • Track and respond to Help Desk inquiries ranging from hardware, software, network, printing issues to remote VPN connectivity.
  • Provide back up support to IT Manager

Administration and Documentation

  • Work with IT Manager to develop technological solutions to improve company performance
  • Develop project work plans for any type of rollouts
  • Establish and maintain computer hardware and software inventory database
  • Maintain and monitor software licensing status and requirements
  • Maintain and implement computer maintenance schedule
  • Oversee and maintain computer archiving procedures
  • Establish and maintain computer/network system security procedures and protocols
  • Maintain and update Circlepoint computer training packet and new hire orientation binders
  • Aid with special IT projects as necessary


  • S. in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, User Setups / Management
  • PC hardware A+, Cisco CNP/CCNA or Microsoft MCP/MCSE is a plus
  • Experience managing helpdesk tickets and telephone calls through a helpdesk system such as TrackIT, vTiger, ZenDesk, ETC
  • Experience installing and supporting Windows 7 & 8.1 Workstations/Laptops, 2003/2008/2012 Server platforms and applications/protocols including (but not limited to) IIS, RDP, FTP, SSH, SCP and VNC
  • Experience creating and deploying PC/Mac images
  • Experience with Android OS Smartphones/Tablets, Apple iPhone/iPad, or Microsoft Windows Phone/Surface Pro
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010 User Administration
  • Hands-on management of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS), SMB/NFS file shares, iSCSI volumes
  • Experience supporting Apple Mac Pro / Mac Mini workstations, Mavericks and Yosemite OS, Adobe Creative (or Creative Cloud) Suite
  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS switches, routers and firewalls
  • Knowledge of IP assignment/addressing/subnets, DHCP vs Static
  • Experience working with VoIP desk telephones
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) cabling, network connectivity
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity software clients (i.e. Cisco AnyConnect, ShrewSoft, SonicWall NetExtender)
  • Knowledge of established and emerging network, hardware and software manufacturers
  • Experience directing and managing vendors and outside consultants
  • Proficient and/or trainable in other software applications
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and guidelines and self-manage/motivate
  • A high level of energy and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work and enjoy helping people of various computer knowledge backgrounds
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift multiple objects (varying in weight from 5 to 30 pounds) multiple times throughout the work day

Paid Internship - Marketing Intern

Circlepoint is seeking a Marketing Intern to join us in our downtown Oakland headquarters office for a three-month paid internship. The position helps support the company’s marketing and business development efforts. The Marketing Intern helps track and research new business opportunities; maintains our marketing database; and supports the marketing team to create proposals and other marketing submittals. The Intern will also assist with the development and organization of an image library and text archive.

The position requires strong organization skills as well as the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, compile and understand information, and help execute projects under tight deadlines.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing or Information Science
  • Fluency in Windows and MAC OS
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and InDesign
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail

Project Manager - CEQA/NEPA Documentation

For over 25 years, Circlepoint has been a guiding force in helping our clients and the public think strategically, communicate effectively, and find solutions to improve our communities and protect the environment. With offices in Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, and Southern California, Circlepoint specializes in environmental planning, strategic communications, and creative services.

Circlepoint is looking for an experienced, motivated and resourceful Project Manager for our South Bay office (downtown San Jose).  This position will require an individual to lead, manage and prepare environmental documents for challenging, high-profile transportation, land development, and planning projects throughout California.

In addition, this person will help grow and promote Circlepoint in the South Bay by actively participating in marketing and business development efforts.

Day to day activities and responsibilities include:

  • Leading project teams in preparing and processing environmental documents in compliance with both National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements
  • Project planning and delivery; budget and schedule; quality control; and staff management, training and development
  • Research, writing and preparing technical studies in the areas of land use, community impacts, and visual and aesthetics
  • Managing preparation of graphics for reports
  • Managing the scope, schedule, and work quality of subcontractors and vendors
  • Writing proposal, scopes, and preparing budgets for marketing efforts


  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct experience with CEQA and NEPA. Preference factors include demonstrated experience with preparing Caltrans environmental documentation; business development experience, particularly in South Bay environmental, transportation and/or land use fields
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in environmental studies, urban planning, technical writing, or an associated field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Project
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and work within allocated budgets and schedules
  • Demonstrated quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) abilities
  • Experience with budget management procedures and/or tracking software
