The Challenge: Getting to the root of tree issues in Alameda County. When our client, an East Bay flood control district, identified 46 hazardous trees for removal along a heavily populated local creek, many in the community objected, despite the district's dramatic depiction of safety issues. The Solution: Outreach and open dialogue with the community.Circlepoint worked in collaboration with the client to conduct a series of community workshops regarding trees slated for removal on three separate sites; developed detailed FAQs, which were posted to the website; and provided other informational materials to the community.
The Result: Progress towards a solution, versus stalemate. The workshop culminated in an open house that provided an overview of the process to date and outlined the timeline for the environmental review process going forward. We continue to work with the project team to engage the community during this process. |
