The Gateway Park project under development at the new Bay Bridge East Span’s touchdown will provide a waterfront amenity unique in the Bay Area, a distinctive recreational space that will join the power and beauty of the new span to the fascinating natural, industrial, maritime and transportation history of the area, and will create a bold new gateway to the City of Oakland and the East Bay. The park will maintain the raw character and scale of the industry, infrastructure and ecology that have been formative in the site’s history. The project provides trail experiences that are unique, site specific and connected to both the natural world and the extraordinary engineering structures and industrial setting of the local environment.
The Circlepoint team is supporting the engineering and environmental team through the implementation of a thorough and efficient public outreach program to share information about ongoing engineering and environmental technical studies; provide multifaceted opportunities for meaningful input and participation; and fully document the public outreach program. The team is fulfilling all CEQA and NEPA public involvement requirements; facilitating public informational open houses, including meeting notices, logistics and documentation; and providing web support to expand the baybridgegatewaypark.org with project fact sheets, reports and, where appropriate, opportunities to provide comment.
