Circlepoint seeks a qualified project manager to join our environmental team. We are currently working on some very high-profile exciting projects in the State of California and Nation. Circlepoint’s environmental practice is molded on an integrated approach to public and private planning projects—environmental evaluation, design, and community outreach. We work closely with planning and design teams to identify environmental constraints early on, focus environmental documents on the important issues, and effectively involve stakeholders to build the support essential to bringing projects to fruition. We work with our clients, ensuring that we are providing a document that captures the correct components that will pave the way for success during and after the entitlement process.

The job might be right for you if:

  • You are a client-focused leader who efficiently and effectively prepares and processes NEPA and CEQA environmental documents
  • You can assume project management responsibilities including: project planning and delivery; strategy development; budget development and management; schedule development; quality assurance/quality control; client service; and staff mentorship and management. The Project Manager will also actively participate in marketing efforts and business development.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience preparing or managing NEPA and CEQA environmental documents for transportation projects (for a private consulting company is highly preferred). Candidates must be highly conversant in working with federal, state, and local agencies in environmental review and permitting.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience in environmental studies, urban planning, technical writing, or an associated field.
  • Exceptional budget, schedule, and staff management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Project. Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task and work within allocated budgets and schedules
  • Demonstrated quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) abilities
  • Experience with budget management procedures and/or tracking software
  • A focused, collaborative mindset with team members and management within Circlepoint, as well as clients.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and have a current driver’s license and access to personal transportation.

What you will do in this position? The Senior Associate Planner will play a supportive role to the Project Managers. This position will be responsible for supporting various roles in the development and publication of environmental documents, including independently drafting of clear and concise CEQA/NEPA document sections that demonstrate a high level of technical analysis, conducting research, assisting in document production, and maintaining project files.

What skills we are looking for? A candidate with the following skills will succeed in the position: effective communication and writing; ability to work independently; a high level of analytical analysis and technical understanding of CEQA/NEPA topics; strong time management skills; ability to work within time and budget constraints; exceptional attention to detail; top-notch organization skills; and collaborative attitude.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum three years direct experience preparing CEQA/NEPA documentation, environmental planning, or in a related field
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in environmental studies, urban planning, technical writing, or a related field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and Excel

Senior Graphic Designer

We are seeking a full-time Senior Graphic Designer to join us in our Oakland headquarters office. The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the conceptualization and implementation of design solutions for a wide range of projects.  The position will support the company in the development of successful brand identities, effective campaigns, print collateral, web and interactive solutions, video animation, illustration, and other custom materials for a wide variety of projects that help improve our communities. The individual best suited for this role is a highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable asking questions, learning new things, taking initiative and providing art direction to other staff.

Requirements:

  • Degree in graphic design, art or related field and/or 5+ years of experience (agency or consulting firm experience a plus)
  • Fluency in Windows and MAC OS
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects, Sketch and MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint)
  • Skilled with layout, color theory, and typography
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reliable pre-press file preparation
  • Ability to review other designers’ work and provide direction
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communications and client management skills
  • Effective hand-sketching skills for communicating ideas and fleshing out design concepts
  • Outstanding attention to detail
